No-Till Drill Rental Program

KSSWCD recently purchased a No-Till Drill, with grant funding from IDEQ (Idaho Department of Environmental Quality), to develop an ongoing equipment rental program. The goal of the program is to serve North Idaho producers in Kootenai, Shoshone, Benewah, Bonner, and Boundary counties.

Why No-Till?

  • Increase soil organic matter
  • Reduce erosion and associated nutrients
  • Improve water quality
  • Reduce herbicide, fertilizer, fuel, and labor costs
