The Conservation Innovation Grant program (CIG) is a voluntary program intended to stimulate the development and adoption of innovative conservation approaches and technologies for agriculture production. CIG promotes sharing of skills, knowledge, technologies, and facilities among communities, governments, and other institutions to ensure that scientific and technological developments are accessible to a wider range of users.  Non-Federal or non-governmental organizations, Tribes or individuals.

The Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) pays participants for conservation performance.  The program encourages agricultural and forestry producers to address resource concerns by improving and maintaining existing conservation activities and undertaking additional conservation activities. CSP is available to all producers regardless of operation size or crop produced.  Eligible lands include cropland, hay land, pastureland, rangeland, nonindustrial private forest lands, and agricultural lands under the jurisdiction of an Indian tribe. Participation in the program is voluntary.

The Environmental Quality Incentive Program (EQIP) is a voluntary program that provides financial aid and technical assistance to agricultural producers through contracts up to a maximum term of 10 years in length.  These contracts provide financial assistance to help plan and implement conservation practices that address natural resource concerns and for opportunities to improve soil, water, plant, animal, air and related resources on agricultural land and non-industrial private forestland.  In addition, a purpose of EQIP is to help producers meet Federal, State, Tribal and local environmental regulations.
