No-Till & Soil Health Workshops

In partnership with the Bonner Soil & Water Conservation District, KSSWCD put on their first Soil Health Workshop on October 12th, 2023. Attendees participated in hands-on activities and soil health demonstrations. Led by Associate Board Supervisor John Mobbs, he talked about his transition from traditional farming methods to regenerative no-till farming. Topics such as: starting to farm regeneratively, what to expect, and challenges and successes, were covered. The workshop took place at Mobbs’s regenerative farm, Lazy JM Ranch. John and his wife Betty Mobbs raise grass fed/grass finished beef without using herbicides, pesticides, or grain. They are both strong advocates for soil health and are dedicated to educating the public about the benefits of regenerative farming and how it contributes to a healthier planet.

May contain: clothing, pants, soil, jeans, hat, person, grass, plant, adult, male, man, accessories, belt, field, glasses, cap, footwear, shoe, people, tree, car, transportation, vehicle, baseball cap, countryside, farm, nature, outdoors, pasture, and rural
